Volunteering with the BWPA is a great way to contribute, meet other members, and learn more about how we work. There are many roles and opportunities available, and we’d love for you to get involved.
Becoming a Volunteer
We recommend starting as a general volunteer. This is a great way to:
- Learn more about the BWPA and how we operate
- Meet other volunteers and members
- Understand our values, ethos, and the way we work
As you gain experience, you can shape your volunteering role around your interests and the time you can offer. It’s also a wonderful chance to connect with members across the country and get involved in the wider aviation community.
Contributing to BWPA Strategy
We’re always looking for new ideas and input into the BWPA strategy. If you’d like to be involved in helping shape our direction, please get in touch — your perspective is valued and appreciated.
Joining the Committee
After volunteering for a while, you may wish to join the committee. Details on how to apply can be found in the BWPA Rules, but your first step is to contact the Secretary at secretary@bwpa.co.uk. You need to be elected for Committee roles so getting involved first so people can get to know you and what you’re about will really help with you getting a committee position.

Committee roles are also a significant commitment, so we recommend volunteering first to gain experience and get to know the team.
