Attagirls Molly Rose Pilot Scholarship – applications close next week

In Learning to fly, News, Scholarships

The BWPA is a key partner in the Attagirls Molly Rose Pilot Scholarship (AMRPS), providing £2,500 to cover accommodation, subsistence and travel for the winning applicant. We will also assist with the vetting of applications and selection of candidates. Applications close in one week, so do not delay, apply today!

Created by Aetheris Publishing and supported by the new book ‘Attagirls’ and an upcoming feature film, the AMRPS is an initiative to encourage young women to consider a career as a pilot. The scholarship will fund training for a Private Pilot Licence for an individual who has demonstrated an interest in flying as a career. Applications are welcome from women aged 17–24, and the deadline for applications is 15 February.

The scholarship is named after Molly Rose (neé Marshall), an aviatrix whose life story inspired the book and film Attagirls, which are both based on her time in the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) during World War II.

RAF Squadron Leader (rtd) and BWPA member Andy Rawcliffe, Chairman of the AMRPS Board of Trustees commented “We are delighted to have a partnership with the BWPA, given that their raison d’être is synonymous with our own; that being to encourage women to consider a career in aviation and particularly as a pilot.”
