Members’ adventures June 2026

June brought more settled weather and plenty of opportunities for our members to take to the skies. This month’s photos capture the breadth of flying across the BWPA, from elegant vintage aircraft and precision aerobatics, to the everyday reality of balancing flying careers with personal adventures.  Alongside those flying as part of their day job, we’re also celebrating members that are working hard towards the next step in their aviation journey, including aspiring HEMS pilots that are building experience one flight at a time.

Whether flying for work, training, or simply for the joy of it, this month’s adventures showcase another inspiring collection that reflects the passion, determination, and variety of our members. It also highlights the support we give one another as women in aviation, with thanks to the men who support and encourage us along the way.

Bev Reardon went on an evening bimble from Otherton Airfield to Pound Green, then back over Coventry Airport.

Catherine Woehrel completed a French tour with Janet Bendell to Carcassonne Airport via St. Pierre d’Oléron, Pau, and back via Beaune and Chartres.

Christina Marie Carver completed her walk round at sunny Zakynthos Airport before launching in to her 3000th hour operating the awesome Airbus.

Emily has been working towards her PPL (H) at Barton Aerodrome; here she is as the last student back of the day, so after landing had a chance to meet with her career goal!

Jo Sharpe did a checkride with Phil Dobson of LAC Flying School based at Barton Aerodrome. She got acquainted with a new aircraft, a Van’s RV-7, and had a lot of fun exercising her IMC privileges in the clouds.

Anna Taplin went to the Isle of Wight for lunch, before returning home via The Needles for the first time!

Poppy Qureshi took a quick local flight to have a break from her ATPL studying.

Steph Smith took a quick photo sortie with Harry behind the camera, as the gates for The Shuttleworth Festival of Flight opened.

Taylor Craft had a busy month. This picture was taken when heading home after a lovely afternoon flying with a colleague in his aeroplanes.
