South Region fly in to Headcorn Aerodrome

 In Member Articles, News

The South Region Headcorn Aerodrome fly in on Sunday was a thoroughly enjoyable day, with a nice balance of reunions and meeting new people.

The weather was scorching, so aside from cramming into tiny areas of shade and fighting off wasps – which took a particular liking to Annabel – the blue skies and light winds meant that most could fly in, which was fantastic!

We had 11 members come along. Dorothy flew in with Peter, Katherine and Holly from Shoreham; Catherine from Goodwood; Annabel and Graham from Farnborough; and Amy from Stapleford. Lucy and Leonie, who are both student pilots, drove in from Hastings.

It was lovely to catch up with people we know, get to know those we don’t, and just generally chat about aviation, weather (of course) and everything in between, whilst watching skydivers and wing walkers.

A trip around the museum finished the day off nicely, as did ice creams (thanks Holly!).

I look forward to seeing everyone again, and other members and guests, at future meet-ups!
