Name a BWPA scholarship

It’s the annual Aerobility Aviators Ball on Saturday 22 November and the Silent Auction for the event is now open for bidding with more than 80 items available to view. This includes the opportunity to name one of our 2026 scholarships!

“This ‘Flying Start’ scholarship is a £2500 financial scholarship for new, inexperienced pilots to gain their first qualifications.

You could choose to name the scholarship after yourself, a friend, or someone who inspires you – completely your choice.”

There are many more items to bid on for this great cause, including vintage aircraft flights, simulator experiences and tickets to an array of events, so peruse the lots and get bidding. All proceeds go to fund the amazing work of Aerobility, who have supported many BWPA members.

“Whether you’re joining us at the Ball or bidding from home, every bid will help Aerobility continue to change lives through aviation,” writes Aerobility.

Our auction lot will form part of the next round of BWPA scholarships, which will be launched in early 2026.

This is the second year the BWPA have offered this auction prize, with last year’s winning bid coming from Matthew Calderwood, who named it the BWPA Butterfly Flying Start Scholarship in honour of his partner, BWPA member Talitha Greatorex.
