The autumn sunshine and colours have been on full display this month. We have some very high-quality photographs that show our members making the most of the flying days…

Deb Dunlop completed a navigation lesson with a student around some wonderful rain clouds and a rainbow!

Catherine Ruddick flew to Devizes-Coates Airstrip for a Sunday roast at the nearby pub.

Bev Reardon took this amazing photo flying with friends from Otherton Airfield to Goodwood Aerodrome. They then returned via The Solent, Greenham Common and RAF Brize Norton. An epic day. One Flexwing, two Skyrangers and two Swifts. Nine very happy aeronauts!

Amelia Richardson had a ball flying in a Yakovlev Yak-3 to Belgium.

Karen Whelan enjoyed her night rating privileges on a night flight out of Blackpool Airport, with a beautiful reflection of the lights.

Jo Sharpe took a photo when on final after a sunny autumn flight over the Lake District with a friend back into Barton Aerodrome, runway 26R. They had a lovely coffee in The Club House to warm up after.

Nancy Lillington did some amazing flying in the RV-6. She experienced smooth skies, great company, and nothing but smiles. You can’t beat days like this!

Steph Smith took a friend up in the Tiger Moth, and he took this photo. We love the reflection in Steph’s sunglasses.

Vero Pepperrell was lucky enough to visit the brilliant Cambridge-based East Anglian Air Ambulance team. She flies alongside Helimed 88 regularly, so it was great to meet the pilots, paramedics and doctors who cover the East Anglia region, saving lives. After a fascinating chat and a look at the equipment they carry, Vero waved them off as they headed out to an emergency call. She has immense admiration for the way they keep their cool in difficult situations.
