Members’ Adventures June 2025

 In News

The sun always shines on the BWPA!  A great month for flying, so here we go with the latest adventures… Mountains, gliding, sunshine and beaches, plus the occasional cafe.  And a great month for gliders and microlights.

Julie Gartside went mountain flying over the Pyrenees in her Duo Discus.

Bev Reardon flew over a defaced crop circle at the foot of Hackpen Hill, Wiltshire.

Catherine Ruddick was a passenger in a flight from Reykjavik to Stornoway.

Catherine Woerhal flew over St. Malo, the last stop on the way back to the UK at the end of the French tour to Annecy with fellow member Janet Bendell.

Charlene Goldsmith at Cambridge Airport taking advantage of the sun.

Collette Leese went to Wellesbourne Mountford from Gamston in a Cessna 182. A lovely traditional airfield with online PPR and good food available.

Maeghan Dee took a flight over Southsea.

Philippa Roberts took an airborne selfie.

Rachel Talbot was within touching distance of a cloud having her 11th hour of lessons in a C42 microlight near Lewes.

Ute Bergk got out for a day’s gliding with the Surrey Hills Gliding Club.

Steph Smith had a go in a Miles Magister at the Cambridge Flying Group members’ BBQ.

Vero Pepperell took a moment of appreciation by the tower at Duxford during her qualifying cross country flight.

Janet Patton took to the skies in G-EVIE, which used to belong to the late BWPA member Evie Saunders.

Kelly Teagle flew around Yorkshire in her glider, and got this photo of Sherburn in Elmet (where some of her fellow BWPA members fly from) on her way past. She gave them a wave!
