Online activities for lockdown life
There are a myriad of fun and clever resources online for anyone with an interest in aviation. We have done some exploring and testing to bring you our favourite suggestions, all of them currently available for free:
Aviation essentials
- Learn The ABC of Flight Mechanics: How Planes Fly with FutureLearn.
- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is offering an Aviation 101 course.
For the younger ones
- Budding aviators will enjoy the Aviation is Your Future course – a project from the Woman in Aviation International Chapter at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University that aims to encourage 8-17 year olds to explore aviation.
Refresh and revise aviation theory
- Learn About Weather with the Met Office, the University of Exeter, the Royal Meteorological Society and FutureLearn.
- Pipistrel is offering all their training materials free of charge between April and June 2020.
- EasyPPL Groundschool is offering access to its Infringement Avoidance Course, and some great discounts on other courses.
- Practice your crosswind landings from the comfort of your living room!
And just for fun…
- Why not hone your paper plane skills or bake some aviation-themed treats to share with those lucky enough to be in lockdown with you?
