New discount for BWPA members at Manchester Flight Sim Centre
New discounts for sim flights are available to BWPA members in partnership with Manchester Flight Sim Centre (MFSC). BWPA member and previous scholarship winner, Amy Dewhurst, writes about her experience using the sims.
The first time I flew an Airbus 320 simulator was at MFSC. I bought the experience as a Christmas present in 2019 for my friend, and one for myself of course! We were amazed at how every little switch, light and detail was exactly as it is in the real thing. Andy, co-owner and sim builder, and Matt, an Airbus pilot with over 20,000 hours real airtime, were extremely knowledgeable, professional and welcoming.
We had such a great time and learned so much that I returned to fly the Rockwell Commander and Cessna 150 simulators whilst attaining my Private Pilot Licence (PPL) in 2020 and 2021. There was always a great community feeling there and friendly people to chat with about anything aviation! After obtaining my PPL and commencing studies for my Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) exams, I thought I would send an email to Andy to volunteer at the MFSC. I went in quite a few times and started training on the A320 and their new Boeing 737. One thing led to another, and I am now Marketing and Public Relations Manager – alongside continuing to study for my ATPL.

MFSC is a really great place to visit, whether that be as a customer, future pilot, occasional visitor or volunteer. There is a true passion for aviation at MFSC, where there are people and pilots with all types of stories and experiences to learn from.
