BWPA regional groups thrive over winter

The BWPA regional groups are a fantastic way to connect with other members in your area. There have been many catch ups and events over the winter months across all of our groups.

Midlands

The Midlands group have recently celebrated several successes by its members, including Air Transport Pilot Licence exam passes and first solo flights. The group also enjoyed a meet up in January 2023 at Midland Air Museum.

Essex

The Essex and Hertfordshire group met in November for a pre-Christmas social in Theydon Bois, before continuing the festivities at the BWPA AGM and Festive Lunch in December. They also got together to enjoy a New Year dinner in January and are planning a fly in to Duxford Airfield in early February.

North West

The North West group have enjoyed virtual catch ups over winter to share their recent news. The group also recently flexed their creative muscles, enjoying a pottery session followed by a pub lunch – of course, the clay creations had a familiar theme!

North East

Although it is the BWPA’s newest regional group, the North East group is growing quickly. In late 2022 the group met at Eshott Airfield for a hangar tour and a café catch up, and members are already looking forward to their next meeting.

Scotland

Several members of the Scotland group made the journey to Hampshire for the BWPA AGM and Festive Lunch in December. The group has also recently met virtually to discuss potential events for 2023, including meeting in person at the Pilot Career Fair in Glasgow on 25 March.

South

The South group have enjoyed several in-person social gatherings over the past few months, including a hangar tour and café visit at Goodwood Aerodrome and coffee and cake at Redhill Aerodrome.
