This year, we are pleased to be able to award up to two BWPA Bristol Groundschool Scholarships to female pilots.

The two scholarships each cover half the cost of an ATPL (A) or (H) distance learning theory course with Bristol Groundschool. The full cost of the course is £2,450 and includes:

  • ATPdigital CBT software which works online and offline, and includes animated diagrams, videos and tests (available for PC, Mac and iPad).
  • Online teaching made up of webinars and revision classes.
  • 12 months’ free access to the Bristol Question Bank – BGSonline.

Scholarship winners will be responsible for finding the remainder of their fees, which will be payable before the course materials are dispatched to them. Winners must have completed their course within 16 months of the scholarship being awarded.

The following are not included in the scholarship and must be obtained by the scholarship winner before commencing their course:

  • CAA exam costs.
  • A Jeppesen Student Pilot Route Manual.
  • A CRP-5 navigation computer with pen.
  • A protractor, drawing set and calculator.

All applicants must be full members of the BWPA. Applications are not restricted to UK citizens or residents. Applicants must already hold a PPL(A) or (H) and preferably have written confirmation from an AME that they are capable of obtaining a Class 1 medical certificate. Students already enrolled on a course with Bristol Groundschool are not eligible for this scholarship retrospectively. By applying, you are confirming that you comply with these conditions.** The BWPA is an inclusive organisation; we welcome applications from any woman.
