The winners of the 2018 BWPA Easy PPL Ground School Scholarships have been announced. These two scholarships, each worth £1600, are available to new and inexperienced pilots who must have less than 10 hours total logged flying time at application, to put towards gaining their PPL(A) ground school qualifications.

Helen Owton

“I am absolutely delighted to have been awarded this scholarship! It’s so wonderful to feel acknowledged by the BWPA for showing potential as a pilot. I feel even more motivated to study hard and intend to share my fun and exciting flying ventures to inspire other girls and women!”

Rebecca Halliwell-Coutts

“As a former Servicewoman, fighting to be an equal is nothing new to me and I strive to be just as good, if not better than my male counterparts. I took this attitude forward with me when I decided that I wanted to fly. I was never given the opportunity to learn in the military but since being medically discharged it has now become my most sincere ambition. Becoming a recipient of this scholarship is not only humbling but it also means so much to me. I see it as someone having belief in me and I will do everything I can to not only deliver but also strive to be the best ambassador for BWPA. Thank you for the opportunity.”
